The Southern Lakes is New Zealand's premier golf destination. A combination of breathtaking scenery and outstanding golf courses has firmly established the area as a 'must do' for golfers of all abilities.


Mountain Range Lodge is pleased to be able to offer packages for small groups of golfers. If this is of interest please email us.

We will pick you up from Queenstown or Wanaka Airport, take you to your course of choice, and either play with you or wait for you to complete your round.


The Wanaka Golf Club is a few hundred yards from the lodge and has recently hosted the NZ Seniors Open.

With a length of 5661m, the 18 hole course is not long by international standards. However, accuracy is the key to this course, with trees and bunkers positioned to punish the shots that stray. The well manicured fairways are a picture and are some of the most photographed golf holes in New Zealand. The greens run very true and pin placements can be demanding. Visitors from around the world are made welcome and are encouraged to join in on club days to play with our members.

There are several other courses within a 60 minutes drive of the lodge. These are Alexandra, Cromwell, Arrowtown, Millbrook, Jacks Point and Kelvin Heights.

It is possible to hire clubs and buggies from all of these clubs. If you are interested in playing some of these courses whilst you stay with us at the lodge, please let us know and we will do our utmost to make it happen.
